About the Fixed Assets Tool

The Fixed Assets is a fully automated tool for completely managing all accounting aspects of fixed assets of an entity, including generation of detailed FA schedule by asset-type, computation of depreciation individual asset-wise and month-wise, consolidated FA report for any given year, and many other features.

Features of Fixed Assets Tool

  • The user can import raw FA data in any format without needing to manually format the data (like removal of redundant rows, re-alignment of columns etc) and with the aid of a unique mapping and mining functionality, the raw FA data is automatically processed and imported into the tool. This saves the user enormous amount of time which would otherwise be spent on manually cleaning-up and formatting raw FA data. (Raw FA data typically comprises Asset Code, Asset Name, Asset Type, Date of Purchase, and Cost of Purchase).
  • The user just needs to define asset groups/types while using the tool for the first time (eg; Plant and Machinery, Furniture and Fittings etc) , and after defining the  asset groups/types, individual sheets for each asset-type are auto-created. Raw FA data that was imported into the tool is then automatically categorized by asset-type and imported into its respective asset-type sheets.
  • The asset sheet for each asset-type  provides complete break-down of all the individual assets within the asset group/type, including asset ID, date of purchase, cost price, opening accumulated depreciation , depreciation month-wise for the required year etc.
  • The tool also features a consolidated report for statutory reporting purposes that provides summary level information about the company’s assets, including opening asset balance for each asset group/type . additions , deletions, write-offs during a given year as also month-wise and total yearly depreciation and closing balance.
  • All of the reports mentioned above are completely auto-generated with the user only required to input minimal information like defining Asset groups, depreciation/amortization rates, method of depreciation etc  in a separate input sheet.
  • The tool also features an informative dashboard comprising  info about top 10 assets sorted by value, by age among other information.
